Sometimes you feel deeply frustrated about an epic life question connected to your dreams. Will I get there? I was thinking out loud with this complicated head, questioning everything. It makes me remember a famous Spanish quote: "If life gives you lemons, make lemonade, and if it gives you tomatoes, make gazpacho. Yet, who said that lemons and tomatoes are good? I am tired of dealing with lemons and tomatoes. Honestly, I want more than lemons and tomatoes in my life. I feel this is an excuse for not dealing with the real problem.
One of the biggest glitches in life is thinking that we are not supposed to have “problems” but that my friend is a total flop. The reality is that we need problems to be able to take action with all our skills and capacities and put everything into perspective as per the physical quantum theory. So, we need to learn, analyze any situation, and design solutions (you know, plans A, B, C, etc.). That’s right, the key is to change from a worry or block to a confident mindset. The problem is not the problem, as military folks said: Is your reaction what matters?
As a writer, it is not just about writing a blog, piece of content, or article; I want more. Who doesn’t want it? Not everybody wants to excel in life the way I imagine; they just want to be comfortable as they live and have what they think is enough, and that is ok. But I am not talking about money or recognition. This is more. Is about completing or starting a chapter in my life that I have been “holding” for years. So, I question myself: is that my path, or am I just insisting on something that is not supposed to happen? Because then, the current will be trying to survive in things that are not in our path while others flow organically as the right path.
I have countless experiences that I have tied to my different projects. This makes me allocate my life into two parts: one as a communication professional who wants to focus on screenwriting, and the other as a sports business expert.
When we are talking about focus at the end, we have to decide which way it is. I love sports communication because it is a passion that has brought me a lot of obstacles in life that have given me the mental strength to understand my emotions and react proactively and strategically. Before any decision, I feel there’s something that I need to close that dot to complete the cycle. Is it real that our job is to overcome any situation, claiming that we have total power over it? If we are unfortunate in any circumstance that is beyond our control, then we have to accept it. However, your total control remains in your experiences, learning, beliefs, values, and attitudes.
As I said, the key is dealing with some lemons and tomatoes in between. Let life take you; don't force it; take the flow and surrender to the “unknown” path. Live in the present because it is the only constant. Put yourself in more situations to become stronger; don't be afraid; this is part of the life package. Just visualize the end, be open, and believe what your instinct has to say or feel. At any step, assure yourself that you are closing every cycle, mastering at least the skills, or learning a lesson. It's not just about lemons and tomatoes. It is more than that; it's our understanding of our emotions that can sometimes reinforce and weaken the mental force that leads us to uncertainty, blurring, and insecurity. Betting on that survival instinct, such as mental blocks or emotional control, at the end is what will give us a true sense of life.
