From writing to the pool, I started my journey more than 10 years ago as a coach, instructor and speaker. Here a little highlight for my last 7 years.
San Juan Capestrano Hospital. This project presents aqua fitness applied to the comprehensive development of character formation through tools such as aquatic meditation, physical training and improvisation. This program will be part of the rehabilitation services offered by the Hospital to achieve changes in behavior, attitudes and motivations in patients. It has been proven that aquafitness helps manage anxiety, stress and self-esteem. This project seeks to address the need to improve the emotional, social and physical quality of life of the Puerto Rican community.
Vitrina Solidaria. As a social company, we are committed to sustainable development and a solidarity-based economy, which accelerates the success of microbusinesses and social enterprises in the market and contributes to the prosperity of Puerto Rico. Vitrina promotes equal opportunities for entrepreneurs through training, support, marketing, and sales activities, while also praising the best artisanal production. Business education is one of our tools, offering entrepreneurs the training to strengthen their products that in turn maximizes their sales and exposure both locally and internationally. As a board member and speaker I offered workshops from the perspective of communications, marketing and branding for participants of La Y en el Yunque. This project is part of the CDBG-DR Funds for labor development of the Puerto Rico and Federal Department of Housing.
PJ Sin Suela and Bebo Dummond. This was an artistic dream achieved it. The production of this music video “Agua” was a creative joint for this summer song and they want to connect with our discipline with a fun storyline. So, was a great opportunity to promote the national artistic swimming team. Taking advantage of the conjunction of the video, I established the Venus Mermaid Fund together with the Puerto Rico Community Foundation, a 501 3c non-profit entity. With this fund we hope to support the technical development of young female athletes in aquatic sports, which we hope at the end of December 2024 we will be providing athletic scholarships. Relacionistas Deportivos. The blog www.relacionistasdeportivos.com was created almost 20 years ago. I confess that at first it was difficult to explain the concept, so I strategically set myself the task of going step by step, which took me years to test. During that time, I had the opportunity to cover different positions in sports, which validated my thesis. However, it is not an easy task to change perceptions, thoughts, behaviors, and influences that date back to years of multicultural work. Converting the blog into a book based on a framework of sports reality and how public relations can be a facilitator that promotes effective, transparent, and responsible communication will greatly reinforce the importance of communication in sports development and magnification. Sports marketing is a trend of constant innovation and entrepreneurship. It is time to create the space, and this book is a starting point for a multidisciplinary group that collaborates and advises in the decision-making of this sporting feat. It is my first literary work, and together with Editorial Las Marías, I managed to self-publish. The book presents a research I carried out more than 15 years ago that analyzes the situation in the sports of the disciplines of artistic swimming, water polo, diving, and swimming, which are under the protection of the Puerto Rican Swimming Federation (FPN). As part of the investigation, García evaluated determining what the processes are like for making and communicating decisions with different audiences, comparing the visions, and knowing their concerns and opinions. With this information, a work plan is designed that emphasizes the delineation of strategies that minimize the main problems that affect these disciplines in Puerto Rico. Indigo Aquatics and Acquapole Italy. Just when the Hurricane Maria came to my country Puerto Rico one week earlier and create my company of Aquafitness. I was so excited with my joint with this two companies that I started educate myself in this specific field. Then came the shutdown of the pandemic life. That doesn’t stop me to continue grow in other areas to transfer all my sports to more fitness view. We reinitiate our classes in Hacienda San José in Caguas on Monday & Wednesday at 7 pm, and Hotel San Juan Marriott Stellaris in Condado every day at 11 am on weekdays & weekends at 12md. Also, we started with the pandemic our BOOK your CLASS AT HOME, giving amazing aqua physical training to families in Caguas, Trujillo Alto, and Guaynabo. As part of our journey as a promoter of artistic swimming sports, in June 2021 started a team of young athletes in the San Juan Natatorium every Thursday and Friday from 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm, and coming soon Saturday 9 am the master team.
Puerto Rico Swimming Federation. I have been working with the last 15 years running different position from being an athletes to became president of the national technical committee AS (2013-2016); Develop the technical levels program for artistic swimming development clubs; . Being delegate for our national team in international competitions as a Judge and Coach for UANA PANAM, CCCAN, CISC, and others in USA Synchro, Canada, and Mexico, 1993 to present. Meet Manager for International PANAM AQUATICS (before UANA), 2013 & 2016 and Diving Grand Prix. My last project was create and co-coaching the First National Mix Duet for the Puerto Rico Swimming Federation, 2020-2023. Also, speaker of sports communications workshop for international federations.
I connect with my surroundings as an expedition goal to discover my real self in order to nourish my soul. I am on a journey to find enlightenment, gain knowledge from my dreams, and express my life's purpose through writing. Every place in life, whether here or out there, gives you a new perspective.
